Academy Level Classes

Our Academy Level classes are designed for students who have shown exceptional talent and a strong commitment to advancing their dance skills. These classes offer a more rigorous and structured training program.

Class Duration: 60 minute classes, two days per week

Focus: Intensive training in technical skills, artistry, and performance

Styles: Emphasis on ballet, with additional training in contemporary and jazz

Environment: Structured and focused, with personalized instruction

Goals: To develop technical proficiency, artistic expression, and prepare students for advanced opportunities in dance

Suitable For: Students who have been identified by our instructors as having the potential and desire to pursue more serious dance training

Class Schedule:

Ballet Classes:

  • Tuesday: 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM - (Fall Semester Sept 10 - Dec 17) 15 Classes

  • Thursday: 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM - (Fall Semester Sept 12 - Dec 19) 12 Classes

Attendance and Punctuality:

  • Commitment: Academy students are expected to attend all scheduled classes each week. This includes two ballet classes and one contemporary class.

  • Punctuality: Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start time to ensure you are ready to begin promptly. Arriving late disrupts the class and can hinder your progress and safety.

  • Attendance Tracking: Attendance will be recorded. Consistent attendance is crucial for your development and will be monitored.

Class Preparation:

  • Attire: Students must wear appropriate dance attire. This includes leotards, tights, and ballet shoes for ballet classes, and suitable attire for contemporary class. If a dancer is unable acquire dance clothing please reach out to a MorDance representative.

  • Hair: Hair should be neatly secured out of face for ballet classes and appropriately tied back for contemporary class.

  • Equipment: Bring all necessary equipment, including water bottles, extra hair ties, and any other personal items you may need.

  • Nutrition: Ensure you are well-nourished before all classes and bring a healthy snack for days when you have multiple classes. Proper nutrition supports your energy levels and overall well-being.

Class Etiquette:

  • Respect: Show respect to instructors and fellow students at all times. Listen attentively and follow instructions promptly.

  • Focus: Maintain focus during classes. Avoid unnecessary talking and distractions to ensure a productive learning environment.

  • Effort: Give your best effort in every class. Consistent effort is key to improvement and success in dance.

Personal Conduct:

  • Professionalism: Conduct yourself with professionalism both inside and outside the studio. You are a representative of MorDance.

  • Communication: If you must miss a class, notify your instructor as soon as possible. Regular communication helps us support your progress.

Need Based Scholarships

At MorDance, we are committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent any child from participating in our dance programs. We believe that every student should have the opportunity to experience the joy of dance, regardless of their financial situation. Families can apply for full or partial scholarships if they face financial hardships. The information provided will be used solely to assess scholarship eligibility, and all personal details will remain confidential.

  • Tuesday: 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM - $337.50 for Fall Semester Sept 10 - Dec 17 (15 Classes)

  • Thursday: 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM - $270 Fall Semester Sept 12 - Dec 19 (12 Classes)

MorDance After-School Dance Class Protocol


  • Arrival and Drop Off:

    • Please buzz MorDance on the front door intercom no earlier than 10 minutes before the scheduled class time.

    • Proceed to the 6th floor where MorDance is located. Our studio is on this floor.

  • Parent/Guardian Attendance:

    • Parents or guardians are welcome to stay for the duration of the class if they wish but we ask you sit quietly in the designated waiting area.

  • Restrooms:

    • Restrooms are located on the fifth floor, opposite the elevators. Students and parents may use these facilities as needed.

  • Class Duration:

    • Classes will start promptly at the scheduled time. Please ensure that your child arrives on time.

    • Students must be picked up immediately at the end of the class.

  • Late Pickup:

    • If you anticipate being late for pickup, please call MorDance to inform us of your estimated arrival time.

    • We kindly request that students are picked up promptly to ensure their safety and the smooth operation of our classes.

  • Emergency Contact Information and Liability Waiver:

  • Parking and Transportation:

    • Please plan your transportation and parking arrangements accordingly. There may be street parking available nearby, but please be mindful of any parking regulations in the area.

  • Health and Safety:

    • If your child is feeling unwell or displaying any symptoms of illness, please refrain from bringing them to class to prevent the spread of illness to other students and instructors.

  • Communication:

    • If you have any questions or concerns regarding drop off, pickup, attire, or any other aspect of our after-school dance classes, please don't hesitate to contact MorDance.
